Sandy Lane Your Slip Is Showing!!!!

Looking in the Nation Newspaper today you’ll see an ad for the post of Culinary Director. (It’s on page 48) The ad has a deadline of December 7th 2007.

That’s all very well and good but…..

Here’s a clip from a website called “The Vegas Eye” entitled “Chef Grant Has Left The Building”

“As most of you know by now Wynn Resort and Casino’s executive Chef Grant McPhearson has left the building. I received a call from Grant today as he was getting ready to leave for London to meet Jimmy Page and catch the Led Zepplin performance on December 10th at the O2 Arena in London, honoring Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. McPhearson just landed a new position at Sandy Lanes Hotel in Barbados as the Culinary Director re-concepting 3 restaurants and running the Food and Beverage.

It would seem that the new Culinary Director is common knowlege in Las Vegas even though the position is still being advertised in Barbados.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm

  2. What can be done is this ,in the next couple of days or weeks, The Sandy Lane Hotel will run an Ad in the same Nation newspaper claiming that they have not received any suitable local candidates for the Post.

They will invite those “having received no suitable applicants for the position of Culinary Director, it is now our intention to apply for a work permit for a non-national. Any objections should be forwarded to the Chief Immigration within 14 days of this publication”

By that time he will already be in the island.

Interested persons can send a copy of the Ad. along with a copy of this article to the Chief Immigration Officer as proof that Sandy Lane Hotel never had any intention of hiring a local.

  3. I think the immigration should look into this and refused him the right to enter Barbados, this ***** does happen all the time and I think it is time that it stop.

  4. I was thinking that the same way you have access to this sort of info. that the newspapers should too and they must surely have more resources to carry out an investigation. This is the sort of stuff a journalist could make a reputation on but alas in B’dos we have too few champions. I was glad to see the article since we all talk about stuff like this happening but the proof is never available for the average man/woman. Maybe someone with an interest in that particular job could object to the CIO; but who knows.

  6. This is not the worst there. Not unusual either. So this is not a shocking news. Thanks for informing us too.
