Ministry and 3S meet with BAPE

Has anyone heard the BAPE’s side of the meeting that they had with 3S and the Ministry? The government side is all over both papers today, we are very curious to hear what the BAPE has to say.

  1. Hi Marginal:

Engineers do not normally comment in public like this unless they perceive an unacceptable risk to public safety.

    Regards.

  2. Hi Grenville,

my point here is that they have commented (which is fine) now that they have met with the Ministry and 3S are they satisfied that the design issues raised are adequately dealt with? Are they still concerned?

Do their concerns now only rest on the management of the project eg tendering process etc.?

Having commented in public they need to make a full statement at least on the points raised. We are left wondering if we have a highway that is an “unacceptable risk to public safety.

  3. Hi Marginal:

As you may have seen, BAPE did respond on the 16 October 2007 and the response was published in local newspapers on 17 October 2007. BAPE noted that the concerns related to public safety still remain.

    Regards

  4. Yes I did see it, I’m not surprised by it. Had there been full agreement on all points there probably would have been a joint release.
